Motorcycling New Zealand appoints Promoter for NZSBK Series

Motorcycling New Zealand announces Capture Events as the official promoter for the NZSBK Series, through to the end of 2027.  The company, that is headed by Mike Marsden, brings a level of professionalism that will enhance every aspect of the Championship, ensuring its continued growth, exposure, and success.

We are excited to welcome Mike Marsden and Capture Events on board as the Promoter for the NZSBK said Motorcycling New Zealand’s Chief Governing Officer, Gretchen Pirika.  “This opportunity represents a new era for our sport, providing us with expertise and resources needed to take NZSBK to new heights.  By working with such a professional and experienced promoter, we are ensuring that the events will be of the highest calibre attracting more riders, fans and sponsors than ever before.  This is an incredibly great opportunity to grow the sport, and we couldn’t be more thrilled for what lies ahead.”

“I am pleased and excited with this appointment” says Marsden.  “I have been involved in the NZ Superbike Championship since the creation of MotoFest back in 2018 and we are extremely proud of what we achieved with that event and plan to use that as a blueprint for the Taupo and Timaru rounds of the Championship going forward.  I am under no illusion as to the challenges the sport currently faces and what it will take to build a commercially sustainable series, grow the championship fields and deliver events the competitors, the fans and the industry will be proud to be part of.  Hats off to the promoters of the Burt Munro Challenge, Bill Moffatt & John Beck also.  It certainly makes a difference to have the Burt and MotoFest as the cornerstone events for the Series.

“We will build a strong second round in the South Island and I have no doubt the final at Taupo will be a success.  I look forward to working with MNZ, the clubs, the competitors and all others involved in the sport.”

Motorcycling New Zealand and Capture Events remains fully committed to continuing strong relationships with Clubs, who are integral to the logistics of these events. The expertise of our clubs, combined with the dedication of their volunteers, is key to ensuring the NZSBK series is brought to life on the ground.

We recognise that without the tireless efforts of our volunteers, the sport would not be where it is today. Their commitment ensures the smooth running of events and fosters the sense of community that is vital to the sport’s success.
